Dusty’s first full length writing project, Snake Road chronicles the supernatural and traumatic childhood that shaped her faith. (Coming Soon)

Commentary, teaching, poems and the occasional dream. While not a professional theologian or author, Dusty’s life experience, creativity and study lead her to share what she has.

From cartoons to paintings, and even the occasional song, creativity is an important part of Dusty’s natural and spiritual journey. She enjoys sharing her endeavors, and encouraging creativity in those around her.

“No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world,
but that the world through Him might be saved.

He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

– Jesus Christ of Nazareth, John 3:13-18

When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you,
do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there.
Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter
in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens,
engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist
or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable
to the Lord; because of these same detestable practices the Lord
your God will drive out those nations before you.
You must be blameless before the Lord your God.

– Deuteronomy 18:9-13 NKJV

For God may speak
in one way, or in another,
Yet man does not perceive it.
In a dream, in a vision of the night,
When deep sleep falls upon men,
While slumbering on their beds,
Then He opens the ears of men,
And seals their instruction.

– Job 33:14-16 NKJV

And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your young men shall see visions,
Your old men shall dream dreams.

– Acts 2:17 NKJV

One way God speaks throughout scripture is by dreams and visions (the only difference being whether you are awake or not). Dusty has a passion for a biblical model of interpretation, testing all things against scriptural truth. While dreams can be predictive in nature, the purpose of God speaking through dreams is usually for personal confirmations, warnings, healing of brokenheartedness, and guidance.

Dreams are frequently symbolic rather than literal, and may have more than one layer of interpretation. Not all dreams are from the Lord, but any dream you interpret can be surrendered to the Lord for a redemptive purpose.

Be very careful how you act upon a dream. The higher the stakes, the more sure you need to be of your interpretation, and the more sources of confirmation you need to seek. Biblical wisdom is a more reliable source of guidance than your dream. Having said all that – when God does speak clearly in a dream, you never forget it!

Most dreams are about the dreamer, and not about people depicted in the dream.

In which Dusty recounts the world of trauma, dissociation, witchcraft and new age that led to her mental
collapse – and the encounter with Jesus that saved her life.
